The 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games were the second Summer Youth Olympic Games, an international sports, education and cultural festival for teenagers, held from 16 to 28 August 2014 in Nanjing, China.

There is a Torch Reply App created to engage audiences with the Youth Olympic Games.


We created 4 versions of videos to promote the App during the Youth Olympic Games. We had custom made the Chinese font delicately to match with the English official font, and stop motion graphics of each gesture that the characters need to do in the videos.

A 80 seconds video to attract teenagers to download the Nanjing Youth Olympic Games Torch Relay App. It is a teaser of the key features of the app. The storyline is a 108 days countdown adventure on torch relay from Athens to Nanjing. We illustrate them like the classic game, Mario. During the adventure, the mascot, LELE, guides the boy to run through different cities and rainbow tracks. They also meet up with other kids around the world to transfer the fire torch. The boy collects different badges when he achieves different levels.

A 15 seconds TV commercial to introduce the Nanjing Youth Olympic Games Torch Relay App. It is a sneak peek of the look of the app. The TVC starts with a smartphone waking up lively on a basketball court, jumping and having fun with others smartphones beside it. Another smartphone came in and transfer the fire to an empty torch. All other smartphones saw them and follow. Then some kids come back and pick up the smartphones. The mascot, LELE, guides those kids to run through the rainbow track and invite audience to be the next torch bearer.
